If discourse stays at the level of opinion, subjectivity, and generalizations, then it would be impossible to become aware of the crucial issues of human coexistence and to work together to present to the world ways of restoring society from ourselves and our personal commitment. Instead, it is about depth.
We cannot limit ourselves to seeing, judging, and acting. We must, instead, ask ourselves: from what model do we see, judge, act?
How do we do it? We follow the characteristic reflectiveness of the human being, which seeks the foundation of things.
The proper structure of the human being who thinks, desires and acts, that is to say, his way of thinking something, adhering, and acting, has (in the terms of Fernando Rielo and Idente pedagogy) three “constants”: finality, union, and commitment. This implies three concrete attitudes:
Our reflection is dynamic and profound, but how far are we willing to take our capacity for reflection?
We seek to give unity to the fragmentation of experience, but under what model? What is the model that unifies our experiences, our way of thinking, wanting, acting and relating to others?
We each commit ourselves to something, but to what do we commit?
Meetings, work sessions, and even the very logic with which we elaborate the work tools (Workbook, Questionnaires, Rules of dialogue and Guidelines for other decisions), are developed, under this perspective, so that we can all help each other to reflect, to dialogue, to draw conclusions and, in this perspective, to:
It is necessary to follow a methodology if you want to achieve an objective; method means “way”: the destination we reach depends on the path we travel.
It is true that there are very varied paths: short and long, tortuous and flat, known and unknown, direct and in stages. Knowing how to walk together the path of honest reflection, sincere dialogue and listening, is very difficult, and yet, this is the irrevocable goal of the WYP
Generally we are accustomed to directing any type of reflection group, already considering the conclusions we want to reach and without going through the necessary path of reflecting together in order to reach such conclusions. This breaks with an indispensable requirement of the WYP: walk and reflect together.
WYP takes place in an international context, with youth (WYPers) from different cultures, customs, religions and beliefs.
WYPers share the fundamental lines of theproject, but:
One of the most important steps of the WYP working meetings and sessions is the decision-making step. It is a step- at a local, national or international level- in which all must reach a synthesis of the group work with concrete proposals. To make decisions together and to guarantee that the final text is an expression of the voice of all its members, the youth will follow a method that the WYP calls “Fields of ideas”, made of 10 rules and guidelines to help make decisions.
This way of dialogue in the WYP is followed faithfully during the decision-making step. However, it must accompany all the steps of the meeting, debate, and work in the WYP.
It represents a basic condition to establish a true dialogue.
This set of simple rules will help to avoid tensions, useless or unpleasant debates, and will be especially important in allowing us to make an experience in and of peace possible.

The national and international manifesto, which are structured in three parts (Verification of facts; Causes and consequences; Proposals), are articulated according to principles and “personal commitments” which the WYP members consider as fundamental in order to construct and restore the human and social living together, in conformity with their highest aspirations.
The World Youth Parliament (WYP) is a permanent forum for dialogue and preparation of proposals, where young people from all over the world, from different cultures and religions, reflect and confront their ideas about crucial issues of personal and social coexistence, for present to the world ways of restoring humanity based on their personal commitment.
