It wasn’t just a game…

They are talking about us…

WYPERS of SOA

This year has been a very special year for all the WYPERS of SOA at the Peter’s and Paul’s Parish in Yaoundé-Cameroon. Our  working sessions where special in that we where Wypers with different nationalities including Chadians, Central –Africans, and Cameroonians. We all gathered to share experience on the exceptional theme of “Peace under construction: making decisions together for a new civilization”.

What was extraordinary in every encounter was the fact that we were a living testimony of a national, ethnical and cultural diversity group capable of working together, facing each other and taking decisions together.

We were mostly touched by the points of the manifesto on “Pillars” and “making decisions together”. Given the unstable socio-political situation of our countries marked by crises and violence, our reflexions have been to embrace peace and to construct the peace we want for ourselves and for our fellow future brothers and sisters.

#Synod2018 invited two representatives of the Idente Youth to participate in the pre-synodal meeting.

Jesus Cevallos and Joaquín Pardo will be representing the Idente Youth and WYP in this unique event in the history of the church.

Just a week to go for the Pre-Synodal Meeting where (19- 24 March) 315 young people from around the world meet #PopeFrancis in #Rome!

What do they want to tell us about this extraordinary mission and opportunity?

Emocionadas me anuncian ellas,
que debo acompañarlas con cautela.
Me han dicho ilusionadas
que las maletas debo armar,
y sin dos veces pestañear
en Roma me voy a encontrar.
Con más jóvenes estaré,
acompañado de mis palabras
podré trabajar y aprender,
y de su mano no me soltaré.

We present you our pride and joy J&J!!!

New WYP’s edition: A journey called forgiveness

After presenting “The Magna Charta of Values for a New Civilization,” on August 13, 2010 at the UN headquarters in New York, the World Youth Parliament (WYP) has continued its work going deeper into the different sections of the Magna Charta. In the biennium 2012-2014 we have developed the Chapter VIII on Education. In the international plenary session of the WYP in Berlin on August 13, 2014, the young people presented the Manifesto “Magna Charta of youth in the school of hope”.

After the plenary session a new edition of the WYP has begun, on the topic “Interpersonal relationships: keys for a new civilization”. Since this is a very broad topic that includes fundamental aspects related to the purposes of the WYP, the International Scientific Committee has decided to divide this topic into sub-topics, in order to treat some of these issues separately. The first topic is forgiveness and this edition will be developed until the next international plenary session, to be held in the second week of August 2016.

This workbook aims to be the guide for developing local WYP sessions, in order to facilitate the development, by the various groups, of their contributions to the Manifesto about the topic of forgiveness.

Throughout the document, we will go deeper into the importance of forgiveness for the restoration of interpersonal and social relationships and its role in strengthening the links between people and institutions. The different working sessions will address particular nuances about the process of forgiveness, going from the time the person realizes the need to forgive, in order to have a full life in relation to herself and to others, until the moment of reaping some of its fruit, which are sometimes much greater than expected.
